Two Podcasts for Your Cultural Dissidence

A dissident is “a person who opposes official policy, especially that of an authoritarian state.” In case you haven’t noticed, American culture continues to march further into a soft-totalitarian posture opposing a Christian worldview. Pretend with me that you’re one of those Bible-believing Christians who still believe in two genders and that God established said genders as male and female at birth, not to be changed or altered by my feelings, therapist, or surgeon. If that's you, chances are you’ve either had to keep such thoughts concealed or, at a minimum, feel an urge to look over your shoulder before expressing such views. If you have been brave enough to express such views openly, you no doubt can say with Socrates, “My plainness of speech makes them hate me, and what is their hatred but a proof that I am speaking the truth” (Plato’s Apology).

To quote Socrates one more time, “The difficulty, my friends, is not in avoiding death, but in avoiding unrighteousness; for that runs faster than death” (Plato’s Apology). Let me commend two podcasts for you to help you outrun the unrighteousness of our day.

1. The Plodcast by Doug Wilson

Listener beware. If you consider yourself easily triggered, I'd start with my second podcast suggestion below. While both Doug Wilson and Joe Boot are on track for a trial by a jury of our cultural elites, let's just say, I think they'd prefer Doug drink the hemlock first.

2. Podcast for Cultural Reformation by the Ezra Institute
